Group Three Presentation Review & Summary

This series of presentations held so much essential and useful information. I think this project was an incredibly valuable experience. I've already learned so much from my peers and our presentations. Group One spoke about Intercultural Communication; a key component of culture is communication and, they did an incredible job displaying that. They covered people's common values, beliefs, practices, habits, and artifacts. The stages of culture shock were especially interesting to hear about; because I feel as though I don't truly experience that living in South Florida being Hispanic as the majority of people have that in common. There are so many differences people can have such as race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, and age. Considering all of these factors when trying to communicate can help speak to groups more effectively and with a better understanding. Recognizing the differences in your group and working together with that in mind can be beneficial for the group's dynamic and integrity. I believe that group one did a fabulous job on their presentation, this group had the least amount of time to prepare but I feel they handled that supremely. Group one has a strong sense of time management and that helped their presentation go smoothly. Their presentation was cohesive and engaging, and I enjoyed their use of videos and photos during their presentation. I feel like group one had a good sense of their goals and had great chemistry working together. You can feel their hard work throughout the presentation. When they reviewed chronemics, I had a sense that they applied what they learned directly to their group dynamic.

Group Two covered communication in groups. With a topic as broad as this one I believe they were able to split the most important points effectively. Having more time than group one I expected something of a slightly higher quality but nonetheless, they did extremely well considering this was only our first presentation. They started off by outlining the characteristics of various groups, with communication problems that may arise. Following that they went over the essential traits as well as the phases involved in forming groups. I found the section on family communication captivating, the video they chose to express this was an amazing example and kept the audience interested in the presentation, I appreciated that they were able to bring a sense of fun to the project. Their slides blended in together well, and it felt somewhat seamless. They powered through and were able to pull off a smooth presentation. Learning about communication in groups is what helped my own group thrive and we directly applied what we learned from group two to our communication. Working well in groups is an important trait to have and so far I've learned so much from my peers and the presentations. Group Two's presentation was packed with such applicable and beneficial information. Our entire lives we have been working and communicating in groups so it's always good to know how you can improve at doing so. I learned that setting productive norms and creating a healthy group is key to successful group communication and team understanding. When you have a healthy group with synergy you develop group intelligence and knowledge which results in greater team performance.

Group Three had such an incredible sense of understanding and balance. I'm thankful for my group leader, and our overall teamwork and group dynamics. As it was our first time working together there were of course small hiccups but we all had the same collective goals which were to succeed and have a cohesive presentation that we could be proud of. I could confidently say we achieved those goals. Watching group one and group two present helped us figure out what we did and did not want to include in our presentation, even in the dynamic of a classroom groups one and two led our group by example. It's interesting to think that even though our class was split into separate sections we still learned something from each other. I enjoyed our presentation because I felt as though we were prepared and organized, our group having more time was beneficial to the quality of our project. I'm pleased that we had such a reliable leader to help with our group dynamic, and communication. I fear if we didn't have such a resilient leader our presentation would have been a wreck. During this project I learned so much about teamwork, mutual respect, and problem solving. In order to have a strong presentation it all comes down to the way your group members communicate. Our presentation went over, leadership, problem solving, meetings, communication, presentations and group dynamics. The way a group interacts and communicates directly affects how well their presentation or project will be. Many groups take extra care in communicating any concerns or comments regarding the project. I can proudly say Group Three accomplished just that. My group wanted to appear confident and put together so we decided to practice reviewing our slides and I believe that hard work paid off.
