Group 3- Good Eating

I found this presentation to be slightly more difficult than the first. For starters, my group had less time to prepare for our presentation. Our theme was good eating, I felt as though it was a strong topic to build our project around. With good eating comes a lot of subtopics so we had a lot to branch from. I believe our presentation was well-rounded and engaging. The information in our presentation was incredibly useful for all walks of life. I think my group has great chemistry and communication skills, we’re able to work together well. Our group had the least amount of time, which made our preparation that much harder, we had a couple of mishaps but in the end, we were able to figure out how to make it work. I appreciate my group and our ability to collaborate on our presentation. Our presentation was dynamic and interesting. We covered a lot about good eating like exercise, and how food fuels your mind, body, and soul. We also went over all the different nutrients we need to function properly. Overall, I do think our project was clean and concise. Even though I wish we had more time to prepare for the presentation I believe we did our very best and that is all that matters.

Group 2 went over self-care in their theme presentation. I found their presentation to be quite engaging and reflective. They spoke about sleeping, eating, and exercising habits which made me realize I should partake in improving those aspects of my life. I think as young students we should take self-care more seriously, as school can be stressful, and we need time to take care of our mental and physical health. I thought the portion of group 2’s presentation when they reviewed an interview with a healthcare professional was especially interesting to listen to. They went over a lot in their presentation, and although it was a lot of information it did not feel repetitive whatsoever. They also featured an interview with a mental health counselor which was very special to include. Receiving insight from someone so knowledgeable on the topic of mental health was engaging as an audience member. They provided advice on how to manage stress and balance school and personal life. As a student, I find it particularly difficult to find a good working balance. This part of their presentation was very important to people my age as we are dealing with similar situations. They also spoke about spiritual self-healing which I resonated with out of everything in their presentation. Spiritual self-healing is accepting who you are as an individual and finding hobbies that spark joy. I believe that loving yourself is the greatest form of self-care. When you love who you are that opens so many doors to things that you could not typically do if you did not care for who you are as a person. I appreciated Group 2’s project on self-care. I think they did a great job getting their message across.

Group 1 covered paying it forward in their themed presentation. Group 1 spoke about the inception of paying it forward and how it has a domino effect. They went over how paying it forward starts with small gestures, like random acts of kindness throughout your day. Being intentional with our actions such as finding opportunities to help others and make a positive impact. Leading by example and being consistent with our generosity. By sharing our stories of positivity and kindness we can encourage and inspire others to join in. We can not only help strangers during our day; but we can also get involved in our community by volunteering. By educating and encouraging those around us we can get others to pay it forward and make this world so much kinder. I thought that Group 1’s presentation was very sweet and possessed a “feel good” message. They went over different organizations that solely exist to help others. It’s very nice to think about how kind the world could be if we all were there for each other. I’m sure Group 3’s presentation alone inspired many students to pay it forward. In conclusion, their presentation was very dynamic and insightful. They did an incredible job with the theme they chose.

The theme presentations were all very educational and useful, this project was very reflective. I feel as though I have learned so much from my peers and the themes we were given. This communication class never fails to pleasantly surprise me.
